Dawn I went to Lake Ozarks for a couple day retreat just her and I (no Mackenzie) and on the way down I was stricken with a sharp pain in my side/back which later was diagnosed as a kidney stone.

Lake Ozarks is about 3 hrs from our house and less than on hour into our trip  here on Thursday I starting getting a pain in my side. It increased until it was unbareble and I began vomitting. We managed to go out and try and fish a little bit once we got here but Thursday night was awful. My friend Joe Valle brought me some pain killers to help with the pain and Friday morning we decided to pack it up and head home. We got about 20 minutes back toward home and I couldn't go anymore so we turned around and went to an Urgent Care here in Osage Beach. They send me to the ER where I was admitted for dehydration and put on morphine. Friday I spent the day in the hospital and had a lengthy conversation with Dr. Brennar a eurologist here on staff. Great guy. He explained that me training and not taking in enough liquids is likely the culprit. I have been having pains after my runs (periodically in my groin area) but didn't think much of it.

Well, now I know what kidney stones are and believe me, they are VERY VERY painful. Today I had surgery to remove the 7mm stone and am now recovering in the hospital until tomorrow.

I will be increasing my water intake as I don't want to experience this EVER again. I also haven't worked out since this began. The only good news from it is that I was weighed when I checked in at 217lbs with is an 11lb lose since my last weigh on February 6th.

I still need to loose 17 more pounds to get back under 200 which is my target weight.
